About the Department
Our College “Raja Narendra Lal Khan Women’s College” is situated in a vast land of Gope Garh . It is popularly known as Gope college . Everyone here is aware of its’ rich heritage and culture. Our college and also our Departmentof Philosophyestablished in 1957.Our department started only pass course in the same year. Honours Course had been startedwith eminentProfessors in 1964. We had Prof. Bharati Ghosh ,Prof. Bharati Lahari , Prof. Rekha Sarkar , Prof. Gita Halder , Prof. Prabhakar Sengupta , Prof Samari Kanta Samanta etc. Now at present we are carrying on our duties with all our efforts.
- Vidyasagar University had added some new topics in our subject and these are closely related to our present social life and its problems. Such as environmental ethics, national integration, communalism, secularism, existing poverty and hunger in the world etc. We are trying to teach and guide our students as they can face all the social disturbance and can have the courage to combat with it. At present, in our syllabus, some topics regarding the eminent figures like Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Rishi Eurobond has also has been added so that studying those each student can become a good citizen in future.
- Philosophy Department organizes Psychological counselling inside the college and also outside the college. The students are very much benefitted by our Psychological counselling and they also feel safe, secure and satisfied. Our Department help in the upliftment of the mental students.
